After an early breakfast, your Tunga guide takes you to the park headquarters for a briefing from Uganda Wildlife Authority rangers on trekking rules and gorilla etiquette. Accompanied by your guide, park rangers, and trackers, you set out into the dense, mist-covered forest in search of a habituated gorilla family — a trek that can last anywhere from one to several hours depending on the gorillas' movements. Once located, your guide stays with you for a profound hour observing the gorillas at close range in their natural habitat, before escorting you back to the lodge for a well-earned rest.

Your Tunga guide brings you to spend the morning with the Batwa, the forest's original inhabitants, whose ancestral knowledge of Bwindi spans thousands of years.
