Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, located in southwestern Uganda, is an ancient Afromontane forest that shelters about half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas. It is considered the most dependable location globally for viewing these incredible animals in their natural habitat. Accompanied by experienced park rangers, your trek through the dense, mist-covered forest may last from one to several hours until you arrive at a habituated gorilla family, where you will have the extraordinary opportunity to observe them closely for an unforgettable hour.
Beyond the trek, the journey features a visit with the Batwa, the forest’s original inhabitants, whose ancestral knowledge of the land spans millennia. Enjoy scenic drives across Uganda’s stunning southwestern hills and additional chances to connect with the local community.
