Game drives across the Kasenyi plains provide fantastic opportunities to observe lions, elephants, and buffaloes, while a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel—a 32-kilometre natural waterway connecting Lake Edward and Lake George—offers close encounters with Africa’s largest gatherings of hippos, as well as elephants, buffaloes, and abundant birdlife.
In the Kyambura Gorge, famously called the ‘Valley of Apes,’ you have the chance to track wild chimpanzees through dense riverine forests. The park’s scattered crater lakes provide a stunning volcanic backdrop to the scenery. Spending four days here allows you to fully explore its diverse ecosystems, ranging from open savannahs to the forested gorge.
